“7YS” is growing, thanks to the wonderful team!

Dear friends, we are glad to announce “7years stadium” team was invited to design a new spot, this time for Bemowo district of Warsaw. Next week we will work on the concept. Come see how we design! The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw 24.08-31.08 (10.00-18.00). Regards from CENTRALA!

In august 2010 CENTRALA participated in workshops organized by NGO "Polska Młodych". Together with WWAA, KAPS, BudCud and MOKO we have designed temporary skateplaza in the center of Warsaw. We came up with the idea of “7year stadium” corresponding to the fact that the spot will be available for 7 years as the court trial over the parcel is expected to finish after what a building will be built on it. The main idea was to create an inverted stadium, with the public inside and the actual game outside, a place that could serve for all kinds of sports that are linked to the city culture or the city itself. We wanted a place that could be open, informal, serve for young and old, a place that could bring back life to that important piece of land.

After the workshop we got some good press. The idea started to be very popular! People started to ask about the project! We started to work!

Now half year later MOKO with our help managed to prepare the extended architectural concept, with all cost calculations needed. The project was supported with public consultation process, we had involved specialist from different kind of sport disciplines, local organizations, Modern Art Museum, who is financing the first stage of the project and Warsaw City Youth Council who helped us to get the political feedback for the project.

“7years stadium” is more than a city square. It’s an idea – a manifesto of young generation acting in demand of high quality public space built within a framework of open and creative discussion. Our aim is to present the world, that Poland has reached global level of competence in science, modern art and business management. The essence of this manifesto is its inclusive character – we respectfully invite everybody to discuss ideas and fears and mostly – share competence and contribute to the project. With no time to waste on critique of status quo, we are gathered around the positive change.
